About Homes for Heroes

Homes for Heroes is Urbni’s veteran housing initiative, focused on providing stable, affordable, and respectful housing to those who’ve served our country. Whether transitioning from active duty, overcoming homelessness, or recovering from service-related challenges, Homes for Heroes offers a foundation for veterans to reclaim independence and stability.

We understand that returning to civilian life isn’t always easy. Many veterans face housing insecurity, unemployment, or health challenges. Our program addresses these realities head-on — offering more than a roof, but a path forward.

Why It Matters

Why Homes for Heroes Matters

Veterans have given so much — and too many return home to limited resources and unsafe living conditions. Homes for Heroes helps fill that gap by offering:

  • 01Veteran-prioritized housing in safe, supportive neighborhoods
  • 02Connections to VA benefits, job training, and healthcare
  • 03Community built around shared experience and respect

We honor service with action — creating housing opportunities that restore dignity and open doors.

What We Offer

Support that goes beyond a roof.

  • Furnished, veteran-focused housing

Shared and private options in peaceful, community-driven homes.

  • Wraparound services

Through partners, we connect residents with mental health support, career coaching, and VA navigators.

  • Community and peer mentorship

Group meals, peer gatherings, and mentorship build a brotherhood and sisterhood that strengthens resilience.

  • Affordable living

Donor support and grants help keep housing affordable and accessible to those who need it most.

Who the Program Serves

Who It’s For

Homes for Heroes is open to U.S. military veterans of all branches who need stable housing — whether transitioning from military life, experiencing hardship, or seeking a supportive community of fellow service members.

Where Our Homes Are Located

Homes for Heroes are located in revitalized urban and suburban neighborhoods close to VA clinics, public transit, and employment hubs. Every home is designed to be clean, comfortable, and responsive to veterans’ needs.

Community Impact

How Homes for Heroes strengthens the neighborhood

Veterans bring leadership, discipline, and a deep sense of service to the places they live. Turning a vacant property into a home for veterans restores a building and a block — and keeps people who served our country rooted in the communities they protected.

Questions

Homes for Heroes FAQs

View all FAQs →

Who qualifies for your housing programs?

Each program serves a specific population. Healing Homes is for individuals in recovery from substance use who have completed a treatment program and are ready for the next step. Homes for Heroes supports U.S. military veterans facing housing instability or transitioning back to civilian life. Second Start serves individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and need a structured, supportive environment. Grace Homes is for seniors aged 62 and older living on fixed or limited incomes. If you’re unsure which program fits your situation, our team can help you find the right path.

How much does it cost to live in one of the homes?

Our housing is subsidized through donations and grants, which allows us to keep rent affordable and income-based. Exact costs vary by program and location, and we work to ensure no eligible resident is turned away due to financial hardship.

Are meals or medical services included?

Urbni provides housing and supportive services, but we do not operate as a medical facility. Some locations may offer community meals or connect residents with local food programs, and we often partner with outside organizations to assist with medical, mental health, or employment needs.

Do you accept referrals?

Yes. We work with treatment centers, shelters, the VA, social workers, and other agencies. If you’re a provider looking to refer someone, please contact our team.
