About Healing Homes

Healing Homes is Urbni’s sober living initiative, designed for individuals on the path to recovery from substance use. We provide a structured, stable environment where residents can rebuild their lives with dignity, community, and purpose.

Recovery doesn’t end with detox or a 12-step meeting — it’s a lifelong journey. Healing Homes bridges the gap between treatment and independent living by offering transitional housing where accountability, peer support, and holistic growth are core values.

Why It Matters

Why Healing Homes Matters

Far too often, people leave treatment only to return to unstable housing or environments that make recovery harder. Healing Homes offers an alternative:

  • 01Safe, substance-free living spaces
  • 02A supportive community and peer mentorship
  • 03Life skills training, employment readiness, and mental wellness resources

By addressing common pressures on recovery — isolation, stress, and lack of opportunity — we help residents heal not just physically, but emotionally and socially as well.

What We Offer

Support that goes beyond a roof.

  • Structured environment

Curfews, house meetings, and regular check-ins create accountability while fostering independence.

  • Peer-led support

Residents uplift each other through shared experience and community living.

  • Wraparound resources

We work with local counselors, employers, and wellness coaches to connect residents with job placement help, mental health services, and ongoing recovery tools.

  • Affordable, accessible housing

Supported by donations and community grants, Healing Homes is designed to remain affordable and inclusive.

Who the Program Serves

Who It’s For

Healing Homes serves adults in early recovery who have completed detox or inpatient treatment and need continued support as they transition into everyday life. We welcome men and women ages 18 and up who are committed to staying sober, building new habits, and contributing positively to their house community.

Where Our Homes Are Located

Healing Homes are located in revitalized neighborhoods close to public transportation, job centers, and support services. Each home is furnished, well maintained, and supported by trained recovery coordinators.

Availability varies by program and demand — contact us for current information.

Community Impact

How Healing Homes strengthens the neighborhood

Every Healing Home begins as a property a neighborhood had stopped counting on. Restoring it removes a source of blight and replaces it with a well-kept, stable household — and gives people in recovery a chance to become steady neighbors, employees, and contributors to the community around them.

Healing Homes FAQs

Who qualifies for your housing programs?

Each program serves a specific population. Healing Homes is for individuals in recovery from substance use who have completed a treatment program and are ready for the next step. Homes for Heroes supports U.S. military veterans facing housing instability or transitioning back to civilian life. Second Start serves individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and need a structured, supportive environment. Grace Homes is for seniors aged 62 and older living on fixed or limited incomes. If you’re unsure which program fits your situation, our team can help you find the right path.

How much does it cost to live in one of the homes?

Our housing is subsidized through donations and grants, which allows us to keep rent affordable and income-based. Exact costs vary by program and location, and we work to ensure no eligible resident is turned away due to financial hardship.

How long can someone stay in transitional housing like Second Start or Healing Homes?

Stay duration depends on each resident’s goals and progress. Most transitional housing stays last between 6 and 18 months, with regular check-ins. Our goal is to prepare residents for stable, independent living as soon as they’re ready.

Are meals or medical services included?

Urbni provides housing and supportive services, but we do not operate as a medical facility. Some locations may offer community meals or connect residents with local food programs, and we often partner with outside organizations to assist with medical, mental health, or employment needs.

Do you accept referrals?

Yes. We work with treatment centers, shelters, the VA, social workers, and other agencies. If you’re a provider looking to refer someone, please contact our team.
